Omaha brothers Elmer Crumbley, 71, and James Crumbley, 76, drowned Wednesday at Cunningham Lake while trying to retrieve their fishing boat, law enforcement authorities said.An Omaha Fire Department dive team recovered their bodies Wednesday morning. Firefighters and police were called to the 390-acre lake in northwest Omaha around 6:30 a.m. First responders said they had learned two adult men were attempting to launch their boat at the south end of the lake when it got away from them. “Both men swam out to try and retrieve the boat, went underwater and didn’t resurface,” Battalion Chief Coby Werner said. “Rescue personnel launched a boat and were able to locate the men with sonar.” The dive team was then quickly able to recover the Crumbleys’ bodies.‘Elmer and James will be dearly missed’ People are also reading… The death of the Crumbleys came as a shock to their North Omaha community.Rev.
